  • Public transport options in Adelaide generally begin service at 5:00 am and stop at midnight.
  • There are many purpose built bicycle paths throughout the city allowing for safe bicycle and scooter travel. 

Transport services

Service Description
Trams  The tram service runs from Adelaide's north-west to Glenelg in the south-west. The tram is free to ride between the South Terrace and Entertainment Centre stops.
Trains  The train service connects Adelaide with its outer suburbs. There are several different train lines departing from the Adelaide CBD.
Buses  Various bus services run throughout Adelaide and the surrounding suburbs.
Free City Loop bus  A free city connector loop bus that runs throughout the Adelaide CBD.
Adelaide Metro ticket information  As a tertiary student, you will need to purchase the Concession ticket on all public transport. The 'Student' ticket is only for primary and high school students. If you travel on a Concession ticket, you will need to make sure you always carry a valid Student ID card with you on public transport.
University transport The University offers a free after hours shuttle bus service as well as an inter-campus shuttle bus.
The Village shuttle bus Students living at the University of Adelaide Village also have the option of using The Village shuttle bus directly from their accommodation to the North Terrace Campus.
