Vanakkam! I’m Pradeep, but you can also call me Prad. I’m from Chennai, India, and currently pursuing my master’s in construction management at the University of Adelaide, with one more year to go. I was supposed to land in Melbourne but somehow ended up in Adelaide, luckily, because that’s how I found out about the IPM program!

G’day, all! I’m Ragib Farhat Hasan from Dhaka, Bangladesh, currently studying in MPhil in Nuclear Physics. Before this, I achieved my Bachelor’s degree (in theoretical & experimental Physics) from University of Adelaide as well.

Moving out of home and into a foreign land is daunting, but at the same time, it is the start of an exciting new journey! Since February 2020, I’ve had a fascinating time in Adelaide and being an IPM since late 2021, I’ve had the privilege of guiding the new international students towards the same.

As a man who is proud to be deeply attached to his culture and heritage, I’m excited to hear about yours! Hence, if you see me around, do say, “G’day, mate!”.

So, when not working or studying, you'll likely find me hiking, swimming, playing sports (mainly cricket), or attending various events on and off campus. Additionally, I enjoy reading, playing video games, and have recently developed an interest in chess.
I joined IPM to assist international students in socialising and adapting to their new life in Adelaide. I understand the challenges of transitioning to uni life in a new country, but trust me, once you make a few good friends, everything becomes much easier. If you see me on campus, don’t hesitate to say hi. I'd love to help you out and hear about your experiences. Perhaps we can break the ice over a game of chess?

Ridhima

Hey everyone! I’m Ridhima, from Kerala, India—where the backwaters meet the mountains, and every chai feels like home. I’m pursuing my master’s in Civil and Structural Engineering. Moving to a new country is exciting but also overwhelming, and I know that feeling well. That’s why I joined the IPM Program—to help students settle in, make connections, and enjoy university life.

When I’m not exploring the world of structures and design, you’ll find me lost in music, enjoying nature, catching up with friends, or appreciating life’s little moments. I love meaningful conversations and new experiences, so if you see me around, say hi! Let’s share stories, make memories, and navigate this journey together.

Rovina

Hi, I’m Rovina! I’m from Singapore and am in my second year of a bachelor's in Health and Medical Sciences. Outside of studying, I enjoy listening to music and exploring different cafés. Apart from studying, I enjoy traveling, reading books, playing the keyboard, cooking, and swimming. I am also a passionate Bharatanatyam dancer and I spend a lot of time practicing Yoga. As an international student myself, I understand what one goes through in the transition and that’s what inspired me to become an IPM. I would be more than glad to help. I love meeting new people and I look forward to meeting y’all at the Uni.

Sanchit

G’day mate! :))

I’m Sanchit, from India, currently in my final year of a Master of Data Science—which means I spend half my time coding 💻 and the other half wondering why my code isn’t working ❌👨‍💻.

When I’m not decoding data, you’ll find me chasing soccer ⚽, planning my next travel adventure ✈️, or discovering the best food spots 🍕. I love beaches in summer 🏖️ and hiking in winter ⛰️—because why not make the most of every season?

I’m thrilled to join the IPM program to meet new people, share experiences, and help fellow students navigate uni life in a new country.

Let’s have fun—say hi 👋 if you see me around! 🎓

Sarika

Hey everyone.

I’m Sarika, a proud Keralite from the land of misty hills, lush greenery, and soul-soothing chai. I’m currently navigating the world of Master of Engineering (Civil & Structural), thriving on structure—literally (buildings) and figuratively (my top-tier organizational skills!).

Beyond academics, I love reading and staying active. Do I always feel like working out? Nope. But once I start, I push my limits like I’m training for the Olympics (I’m not, but let me dream).

I’m so excited to be part of the IPM family and explore the multicultural world of Adelaide! There’s something magical about meeting people from different backgrounds, sharing experiences, and growing together. IPM is the perfect place to grow, connect, and have fun—so if you see me around, don’t hesitate to say hi!

Seth

Hello guys! I am Seth. I am from Cambodia. I am studying for a dual degree in mathematics and computer science, and I am in my final year! Outside of studying and working, I like to go for long walks to let my mind rest and wander. I am not as physically active as I once was, but I keep fit whenever I can squeeze a session in during busy weeks (and that is why I can still move reasonably quickly!). Many things excite me about continuing in the IPM program (this is my 2nd year): the opportunity to volunteer with and learn from individuals of various cultural backgrounds and simply helping each other in academia or life in general.

Shiro

Hi everyone! I'm Ksheeraja, but you can call me Shiro! 😄 I'm from India and currently pursuing my masters in Data Science. In my free time, you'll catch me nose-deep in crime novels, battling in RPG games, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.

As an international student, I understand the challenges of adjusting to a new country and I'm excited to be part of the IPM family, where I can contribute to easing the transition for others. Whether it's sharing my own experiences, offering assistance at the university, or simply being a friendly face to greet you on campus, count me in! I hope you all make some incredible memories and have the time of your lives here. See you soon!

Sinthia

Hi, I am Sinthia from Bangladesh. This is my second year of doing Masters in Environmental Policy and Management. I love interacting with animals and very enthusiastic regarding anything related to the environment. This is just the starting point for me as an IPM. I am very excited about this journey to meet new people, learn and experience lots of new things.

Tahseen

Hello! My name is Tahseen Taiyabah! I am from Bangladesh, studying as a second year student in bachelor's of advanced computer science.

I absolutely adore reading books and listening to music during my free time. While books help me introspect, I also thrive in social settings.

Aside from that I have found a special kind of solace in volunteering. That is the primary reason behind my joining of the ipm program! The past ipms have played a huge part in making uni a safe space for me and I would love to contribute to that as a 2025 ipm! My 2025 resolution would be to provide a warm welcome and an inclusive space for all students whether they are continuing or newly joined. A home away from home for all of my international peers.

And with that I would like to Welcome everyone to University of Adelaide! Hope you have a great time here!

Tung

How you doin’? My name is Tung, but sometimes, people call me "Tung Tung Tung!" out of excitement. I’m from Hanoi, Vietnam and have been here in Adelaide for 2 years.

However, Australia is not my first rodeo, as I had also spent my undergraduate years (4 years to be exact) in the United States, and a trimester abroad in Italy, so I’m confident to say that I know a thing or two about life as an international student.

When I’m not busy grinding to earn a Master’s degree in Computing and Innovation, you can find me chilling at my natural habitat: the breath-taking beaches of South Australia. So if you see me around, don’t be shy and come say hi! Talk to me about cars, pop culture, European football, ask me about underrated gems to visit around Adelaide, or challenge me to a game of pool, and I would reply with great enthusiasm!

I’m extra thrilled to be an International Peer Mentor and can’t wait meet you all, and to help you on your wonderful journey here in Adelaide.

Vidya

Hello! I'm Vidya V Ganesh, and you can call me Vidya. Hailing from South India, I'm currently in my first year of a Master of Construction Management program. Beyond my academic pursuits, I’m passionate about animals—I petsit and have a history of rescuing animals back in India, along with volunteering here. I also have a creative side, with a deep love for Kathak, an Indian classical dance form, as well as singing and painting. I joined IPM to enhance my social skills and to support new students as they navigate campus life. I believe in creating meaningful connections and making a positive impact wherever I go.

Vin

Hey! My name is Vinayak, but you can call me Vin if that's hard to pronounce. I’m from India, and for a year now I’ve been living in Adelaide, pursuing my Master of Finance whenever I’m not out chilling with friends and exploring South Australia. I enjoy reading, being outdoors, visiting new places and meeting new people. I love a good interaction and getting to know people on a deeper level, so hit me up when you see me, what if we end up being best friends? That’s what I am most excited about joining the IPM program. It’s a chance to connect with people, build a strong community, and lend a helping hand to those new to uni and the city. Looking forward to the journey ahead!

Vivian

Hi everyone! I am Vivian from Hong Kong, pursing Bachelor of Health and Medical Sciences (Advanced). I enjoy being involved in university life a lot that I am currently a committee member of the Women In STEM Society (WISTEMS) and the Adelaide University Biosciences Network (AUBN). I love playing and watching sports, particularly basketball and soccer. As a non-English speaker, I can relate well to the tough language barrier and homesickness one has to go through while starting a new journey in Adelaide. That’s why I am here to assist you to adapt uni life and have a wonderful time. I look forward to a fabulous journey with all of you xx

Vynavi

Hey there!

I’m Vynavi from Hyderabad, India, and I’m currently in my second year of a Bachelor of Health and Medical Sciences. When I’m not buried in uni work, you’ll probably find me painting, crafting, or wandering around Adelaide’s beaches and markets, pretending I’m in a travel vlog that no one’s filming. I love discovering cute cafes, getting way too excited over anything lemon-flavored, and convincing myself that buying way too many art supplies is a necessity (it absolutely is).

This year marks my first as an International Peer Mentor (IPM), and I’m beyond excited to meet everyone. Having gone through the challenges of adjusting to a new country myself, I know how overwhelming it can feel at times, and that’s exactly what inspired me to become an IPM. If you ever see me around campus, please don’t hesitate to come say hi and have a chat!

I’m also a language enthusiast and love exploring different cultures through languages—my most recent adventure was in Swedish.

My first glimpse into the University of Adelaide was through ISS events, which helped me settle in and meet amazing people. So, when the opportunity came to give back as an International Peer Mentor, I jumped at the chance! The best part has been the incredible multicultural exposure where every interaction was a chance to learn, connect, and grow. Looking forward to an exciting journey together! 😊
