Australia Awards

The University of Adelaide welcomes students sponsored by the Australian Government under the Australia Awards Scholarships scheme to undertake studies in a variety of areas.

The Australia Awards Scholarships program provides opportunities for candidates from a wide range of countries to undertake postgraduate study in Australia (undergraduate study is also funded in a limited number of countries). The program aims to strengthen the human resource capacity of partner countries in agreed priority areas by providing scholarships to develop the skills and knowledge of individuals to drive change and contribute to development outcomes in their home countries.

More information on the Australia Awards, including the application process, can be found at the Australia Awards website .

Tell us about your experience as an Australia Awards Scholar.

It was a truly a world class education studying accounting and finance in the University of Adelaide. The education system was designed to balance between practical and theoretical knowledge... Indeed, I would be forever grateful to Australia Awards for giving me the best chapter in my life.

What is your goal once you have completed your degree?

My first goal is to lead educational action research at school, cluster and district level... My lifelong goal is to promote gender equality. I have already received opportunities to attend two different forums, the Newday Leadership Summit in Adelaide and Australia Awards, and the West Asia Scholars Forum in Canberra, both emphasising gender equality and leadership.
