Credit for Previous Study
In some cases you may be credited with advanced standing (status/exemptions) on the basis of work you have already completed at another institution.
To assess for advanced standing, we require a list (syllabuses or curricula) of the subjects you have successfully completed. You must provide the official, correctly certified syllabuses from the institution. Certified English translations are required if the originals are in another language.
Each syllabus must include the following:
- An overview of the course
- A list of weekly topics covered (each week/session)
- Details of contact hours
- All assessment details and criteria
- A list of textbooks and readings
This is to determine whether the subjects you have undertaken have covered a similar amount of content to a University of Adelaide course.
Applications for advanced standing are referred to the School or Faculty and assessed on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the number and complexity of subjects, assessment may take several weeks and this may delay the issuing of your offer of admission.
All credit decisions will be assessed in accordance with the University’s Academic Credit Arrangements Policy.
