Pathway Programs & Courses

Do you want to prepare for tertiary study in Australia? Bridge the gap between school and university with pathway programs.

Foundation studies

Foundation programs are designed to meet the special needs of international students who do not meet the academic requirements for entry into undergraduate programs at the University of Adelaide.

If you are a student with a secondary qualification from the following countries, you are advised to complete a foundation studies program:

  • South Pacific islands
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • Philippines
  • Saudi Arabia

Foundation programs help students develop the required level of language and independent study skills needed for successful university study. They provide a supportive environment where friendships can be developed with both international and Australian students. Students will also have access to the University library and other services.

Students are enrolled by the University and, provided they meet the minimum entry requirements, are guaranteed admission to the degree program of their choice, with the following exceptions:

  • All undergraduate music programs
  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Bachelor of Oral Health
  • Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Bioscience)
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours)

Foundation studies providers
