International Student Advisors
International Student Advisors are available to help you with issues or challenges that you're facing.
Advisors can help all currently enrolled students experiencing a personal or financial issue affecting their studies. If you have yet to commence your program, please contact the International Admissions Office.
Please note: If you are receiving a scholarship from your home government (e.g. MARA, SACM, Omani Government) or an Australia Awards scholarship, please contact us to arrange an appointment with a specialty advisor.
Make a general, one-on-one appointment (30 mins) with an International Student Advisor to discuss any complex questions or personal issues. Appointments are face-to-face, via Zoom or phone If you need a longer time to discuss your situation, you can make another appointment during your meeting with an Advisor.
Examples of appointment topics:
- Tuition fee issues or financial hardship
- Discontinuation of studies or leave of absence
- Study management assistance
- Accommodation issues (e.g. early lease termination)
- Employment issues or complaints
- Grant support letters (e.g. Walter Dorothy Duncan Trust)
- Exclusion appeals or Show Cause
- Academic integrity issues
- Grievances or misconduct issues
- Mental health issues
- Sexual harassment
- Reporting and recovering from scams

In an emergency
In a life-threatening emergency in Australia, call 000 for police, ambulance, and firefighters.
If you have a non-life-threatening emergency that you need to discuss with an Advisor, please contact us to arrange emergency support or visit Ask Adelaide.
For on-campus emergencies, contact University of Adelaide Security (8313 5444).
Out-of-hours support is also available on the University Crisis Line. You can call on 1300 167 654 (in Australia only) or text 0488 884 197 (from anywhere in the world), 5 pm - 9 am on weekdays; 24 hours on weekends and public holidays.
