International Student Advisors

International Student Advisors are available to help you with issues or challenges that you're facing.

Advisors can help all currently enrolled students experiencing a personal or financial issue affecting their studies. If you have yet to commence your program, please contact the International Admissions Office.

Please note: If you are receiving a scholarship from your home government (e.g. MARA, SACM, Omani Government) or an Australia Awards scholarship, please contact us to arrange an appointment with a specialty advisor.

Before you make an appointment

Try searching on the AskADEL database for answers to common enquiries here, such as:

  • Can I extend my Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)?
  • Where can I look for work in Australia while I am studying?
  • Can I undertake distance or cross-institutional study?

Make a general, one-on-one appointment (30 mins) with an International Student Advisor to discuss any complex questions or personal issues. Appointments are face-to-face, via Zoom or phone If you need a longer time to discuss your situation, you can make another appointment during your meeting with an Advisor.

Examples of appointment topics:

  • Tuition fee issues or financial hardship
  • Discontinuation of studies or leave of absence
  • Study management assistance
  • Accommodation issues (e.g. early lease termination)
  • Employment issues or complaints
  • Grant support letters (e.g. Walter Dorothy Duncan Trust)
  • Exclusion appeals or Show Cause
  • Academic integrity issues
  • Grievances or misconduct issues
  • Mental health issues
  • Sexual harassment
  • Reporting and recovering from scams
